An F1 Prediction Game Built for Playing With Friends
The best part of following a season is arguing about it. GridPlay turns that into a scoreboard: create a private league, share one link, and everyone in your group predicts each Grand Prix and gets scored on the same terms.
Setting up a league takes about a minute
- Create a free account and open the Leagues page
- Create a league and give it a name your group will recognise
- Share the join link — anyone with it can join, no admin approval needed
- Everyone makes their own predictions before each round locks
- Standings update automatically once results are in
No admin work for whoever organises it
If you have ever run a prediction league by hand, you know the real cost is not the predicting — it is chasing people for picks, transcribing them into a spreadsheet, and recalculating the table every fortnight while someone disputes your maths.
GridPlay removes all of that. Predictions are submitted by each player and locked automatically at the deadline, results are imported after each session, and scoring is applied identically to everyone. Nobody has to trust the organiser is doing the sums right, because the organiser is not doing any sums.
How scoring works
You predict the top three in the race and the top three in qualifying. Get a position exactly right and you score full points; put the right driver on the podium in the wrong order and you still score partial credit, so a good read of the weekend is never wasted.
- Race: 15 points for the winner, 10 for P2, 10 for P3
- Qualifying: 10 points for pole, 8 for P2, 8 for P3
- Right driver, wrong position: 5 points in the race, 4 in qualifying
- Sprint weekends: 10 points for calling the sprint winner
- Safety car: 5 points for correctly predicting whether one appears
- Perfect prediction: a 25 point bonus on top
Join as many leagues as you want
There is no limit on how many private leagues you can create or join, and your predictions count in all of them at once. One set of picks per round can score in your group chat league, your work league and the global leaderboard simultaneously.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can join a private league?
There is no cap built into GridPlay, so leagues work for a group of three friends or a much larger circle. Everyone is scored on the same rules and appears in the same standings table.
Can I be in more than one league at a time?
Yes. You can create and join as many private leagues as you like, and a single set of predictions counts in every league you are part of as well as on the global leaderboard.
Can other players see my predictions before the race?
No. Predictions stay private until the deadline passes, so nobody can copy your picks. Once predictions lock, everyone in your league can see what was submitted.
Does everyone need to sign up?
Each player needs their own free account so their predictions and points are tracked separately. Signing up takes a moment and does not require any payment details.
What if someone joins the league mid-season?
They can join at any point and start scoring from the next round. Their total reflects the races they actually played, so late joiners will trail on points until they catch up.
